There are restomods, and then there are statements. The Rennsport Evolution is firmly the latter. A classic 911 body, stripped back to a bare shell and rebuilt around a blueprinted, balanced engine, with renewed braking and suspension systems. Every detail specified to the customer’s exact requirements. The result is what a 911 always promised to be: lighter, sharper, and entirely uncompromised.
This particular example arrived at our Winchester studio in Oak Green, a colour that suits the car’s classic proportions beautifully, and left wearing a full XPEL Paint Protection Film installation. But before a single panel of film went on, there was work to do.

Putting It Right Before Protecting It
The car arrived with some deep scratches to the left-rear wing and bootlid. The customer was unsure of how they got there but regardless, our approach has always been that PPF should lock in a perfect finish. So before installation began, our team worked through the affected areas with wet sanding and polishing, carefully levelling the clear coat until the scratches had disappeared entirely. The paint beneath was untouched, and the surface was ready.
It is a step that matters. There is little point in committing to a premium protective film if the finish underneath hasn’t been given the same level of attention.
The Install
A full PPF installation on a classic 911 body is not a straightforward job. The original lines of the Evolution, faithful to the donor car’s proportions, present the kind of complex curves and tight panel geometry that demand both patience and skill. The rear wings in particular required the film to be stretched in multiple directions to follow the surface correctly, with no lifting, no tension lines, and no compromise to the finish.
Our team navigated every panel with the precision this car deserved. The result is a seamless, optically clear installation that preserves every contour of the bodywork while guarding against stone chips, road debris, UV degradation, and surface abrasion.

Finished With Ceramic
Once the XPEL film was installed, a professional-grade ceramic coating was applied over the top, adding a hydrophobic layer that causes water and contamination to bead and roll cleanly off the surface. It is the final step in a protection package that ensures this car stays as immaculate on the road as it looked leaving the studio.
