Its first detailing experience
This is certainly one of the most amazing Porsche models that you can buy. It’s certainly one of my favourite cars. The Carrera GT engine is 5.7l V10 and 612ps – a screaming monster! It can do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and 100 miles on the clock in just under 7 seconds: very impressive results back in the early 2000’s. This particular car has covered just under 2,000 km and had never had professional detailing. I have spent over a week detailing the exterior, interior, engine and suspension parts. The paintwork received some correction with selective wet sanding to remove some imperfections and dipper scratches.
Process and products…
Before paint correction, every car receives exterior detailing. This vehicle received bespoke Carrera GT detailing and paint correction with selective wet sanding to remove deep scratches from the paintwork.
It also has suspension detailing and ceramic coating application to the paintwork, wheels, callipers and glass.
The engine detailing involved degreasing, steam cleaning and polishing the metal and carbon parts. The rubber, composite and metal parts have been protected and restored back to nearly new condition.
The interior has been dry detailed, the carpets steam cleaned and the carbon floor scratches polished to restore its high gloss look.
Finished results
After many hours of polishing this Porsche super hard with ceramic paint, I have achieved the desired level of gloss and clarity. The ceramic coating application has made this gloss level even more outstanding.
wet sanding
The Carrera GT is made of carbon fibre panels with a distinctive weave visible under the paint. I had to be very precise to remove enough clear coat to rectify the scratches yet not to remove the integrity of the carbon weave.
